Interested in becoming a substitute teacher?

Don’t meet the traditional training requirements and pre-requisites?

Now you can obtain your certification to become a substitute teacher by completing state-approved Frontline Substitute Teacher Training. Select states accept Frontline’s training in lieu of their traditional college credit requirements. Our training consists of approximately 20 hours of content that you can complete virtually at your own speed. This program is specifically designed for substitute teachers and aligns to state Teaching Standards. The cost for the full set of courses is $180.

North Dakota Education Standards and Practices Board

If you’re interested in becoming a substitute teacher in North Dakota, but don’t have the required 48 hours of college-level credits, then this program is for you!

The following restrictions apply to those with less than a bachelor’s degree:

  • Cannot sign contract or be the teacher of record on the MIS03.
  • Has not completed an approved educator preparation program.
  • Limited to thirty (30) consecutive days in the same classroom.
